Punt Touting and Dog Control PSPOs

On Wednesday 3 June we are launching two consultations relating to Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs).

We are consulting on PSPOs covering punt touting and dog control in Cambridge, with both surveys running until Sunday 12 July.

We can make PSPOs under the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.

PSPOs were created to deal with problems in public spaces which have a negative impact on the local community’s quality of life. A PSPO does this by stopping certain activities in the area it covers.

If someone refuses to stop doing the activity covered by the PSPO, it is a criminal offence, and they will be issued with a fix penalty notice of up to £100 or prosecuted with a maximum fine £1000.

Select the individual project cards on this page to find out more about each consultation and take the respective surveys.

You will need to be registered on this platform to have your say. Alternatively, you can complete hard copy versions of both surveys.

If you are in need of any further assistance, please email us at communications@cambridge.gov.uk.

  • Punt Touting - Public Spaces Protection Order 2026

In 2016, we introduced a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) to stop punt touting in certain areas of Cambridge. This PSPO lapses on Sunday 27 September 2026 and we need to decide whether to renew it, change it or allow it to end.
