Thank you for your project application idea, the project idea obviously hopes to address local community need. This project was taken to East Area Committee for consideration within the funding and criteria for EIP area funding. Following committee consideration this area project was then approved by the Executive Councillor for Environment, Climate Change and Biodiversity to a value of £3,000. A Council Officer will contact you as soon as resources allow in early 2023 in regards to bringing the project forward towards implementation.
Community bench and biodiversity in Jack Warren Green
From "Environmental Improvement Programme (EIP) - 2022"

I am submitting this proposal as the local County Councillor for Abbey. I spoke with many residents in Jack Warren Green about local issues and improvements in the area.
Jack Warren Green is in the most economically disadvantaged part of Abbey ward, which is in its turn the most disadvantaged in the City. It would be great to focus some more investment in this area as access to quality green spaces are so important to improving life quality for our residents.
Many residents want to see a better green space in Jack Warren Green. Currently, the green space as you enter the estate from Newmarket Road, has very little play equipment, and no other facilities. The space is used by residents, from dog walkers to local residents' children. It is a lovely and sizeable green space and could have so much more to offer.
There are no benches in this space. I propose having a larger "picnic bench" suitable for community events like birthday parties as well as using for sitting down while with children using the space. This bench could also be enhanced by some biodiversity improvements, like a wildflower meadow next to it which could be an activity in which local children can be involved too. Any ideas are welcome for this space, as residents ultimately want to see any improvement, especially for children and parents to use.
