Dear Janet Scott,
We regret we are unable to consider this request as it doesn’t fit the eligibility of the Environmental Improvement funding programme (EIP) as it is not a standalone capital project. However we have put forward your suggestion directly to various services in housing , the biodiversity manager and climate change officer for consideration.
For the purposes of the EIP process unfortunately we cannot accept the project idea and therefore will change the status of the project to rejected. Though we would like to thank you for putting in the time to put forward this project idea, and would welcome ideas in any future EIP round.
If you would like more details on why we have taken this course of action please contact me at james.ogle@cambridge.gov.uk, and I will endeavour to get back to you.
Kind Regards
James Ogle
Allow windowboxes - increase biodiversity and appearance
From "Environmental Improvement Programme 2023-24: New bidding round"
Go to the project
Leaseholder Terms do not allow windowboxes. By simply removing this condition, we could create the opportunity for microhabitats and connect up bigger garden areas, boosting pollinator and other biodiversity, and at the same time improve the visual environment in may areas.
