Fingerposts advising the public of the locations of City Centre public toilets

From "Environmental Improvement Programme 2023-24: New bidding round"

Go to the project

Proposed budget

GBP 5,000

Description

No current signage exists directing residents or visitors to the public conveniences available in the City Centre.

By installing directional signage finders, visitors and locals can make more use of the available facilities giving the ability to find the facilities quickly and ensuring they maintain a comfort level throughout their visit to the city centre. Signage will improve the offer of the city and enable a more pleasant experience to residents and visitors. The signage helps pedestrians navigate external spaces and greatly helps the flow of pedestrians by easily guiding people where they need to be.

Posts to be installed  at various locations across the City Centre. Nearest postcodes are: CB2 1AD (Parkers Piece), CB1 1NP, CB1 1EX (Christs Pieces and New Square), CB2 8AB, CB3 9PA (Lammas Land and New Bit), CB3 9AH (Queens Green)

I'd like to see all charges for toilets in the city abolished. It's degrading to monetise a natural human function, discriminatory against children, older people, and many who suffer from medical conditions. All it leads to is more public urination by those wanting to avoid paying to spend a penny.
Great idea,.it's awful to be caught short and have no idea where to turn. Might help with public urination related to the night time economy too!

Great idea, as long as they don't close down any more of them
        A fantastic idea!
Long overdue. The way we treat our visitors to this town is disgraceful given the money they bring into our local economy.
I support this project which will make the city a more welcoming place for our many visitors. Finding toilets quickly is particularly important for residents and visitors with children and/or disabilities.

Yes please, and one pointing to the Quayside toilets as well. I'm frequently appealed to by distressed visitors in the city centre.
