Gilbert Road – Additional Grass verge biodiversity improvements

Some biodiversity work to be undertaken as part of approved Gilbert Road EIP strategic project however more biodiversity enhancement works identified. The additional proposals will further improve the biodiversity and the environment at a local level in the established housing area and make increased use of the green assets to address the climate emergency, whilst helping increase public support for measures to reduce climate impacts, improve biodiversity and as a secoundary outcome it will likely reduce the risk of cars parking on the verges. This project provides a chance for a local response and a redressed balance between protecting verges and biodiversity improvements.
