Thank you for your project application idea, the project idea obviously hopes to address local community need. This project was taken to East Area Committee for consideration within the funding and criteria for EIP area funding. Following committee consideration this area project was then approved by the Executive Councillor for Environment, Climate Change and Biodiversity to a value of £2,500. A Council Officer will contact you as soon as resources allow in early 2023 in regards to bringing the project forward towards implementation.

Description
Drinking fountains to be installed near the Clay farm Centre on Hobson Square, Trumpington. Hobson Square is a relatively new development and a good meeting place for local residents. However many improvements are necessary before it becomes an attractive place to be.
Many of the young people living in the area need to have a place to meet during the school holidays, and some do it Hobson Square but, particularly during the hot summer this year it has not been a place for young people to remain for long. They become very thirsty.
Drinking fountains would be a good start to making the Square more hospitable.
This was a topic of discussion amongst the four Trumpington Ward councillors this summer and receives the support from all of them.
Support will be required from the offices at Clay farm centre as presumably the water supply will need to be plumbed into their system.
