Planting on existing pavement islands, Norwich Street
From "Environmental Improvement Programme (EIP) - 2022"
Go to the project

Proposed budget
GBP 5,000
Description
Planting on Norwich Street would greatly enhance the atmosphere and aesthetic of the street. There are two adjacent small pavement islands midway down the street opposite No 35 which would easily take suitable planting of small bushes or shrubs. The pavement islands have currently been cemented over but this infill could easily be removed to make way for a suitable soil base. As is well known and accepted that environmental planting has important environmental attributes as well as being aesthetic and calming. The proposal has the support of residents of the street and local ward councillors.
