Route to the Pulley from southern park of Kings Hedges

A councillor told my husband that the council strategy is to centralise play facilities to two larger play areas: Nuns Way and the Pulley. Nuns Way is reasonably close to my house and the Pulley is a fair bit further. I'm excited by the investment in new play equipment for the Pulley, but I don't feel it will actually result in my family using it more. This is mainly due to the route to the Pulley from the southern side of Kings Hedges being very unpleasant - it involves going through blocks of flats that are dark and unwelcoming, you're walking past people's bins and it feels both invasive and unsafe. The other routes aren't much better - they're dark and littered. I think it's quite problematic that the Pulley is so inaccessible by roads as it allows troublemakers to quickly make an escape into the maze-like courts that surround the area, which encourages poor behaviour. I feel like there's less vandalism in areas that are open with lots of passing foot traffic.
