Thank you for your project application idea, the project idea obviously hopes to address local community need. This project was taken to West/Central Area Committee for consideration within the funding and criteria for EIP area funding. Following committee consideration this area project was then approved by the Executive Councillor for Environment, Climate Change and Biodiversity to a value of £2,000. A Council Officer will contact you as soon as resources allow in early 2023 in regards to bringing the project forward towards implementation.

Description
Idea is installation of laid down telegraph poles pegged in place to reduce damage cars are doing to the Trees and vegetation on the edge of the public footpath which is used as a vehicle parking point , however a more biodiverse solution could be use of large deadwood tree trunks/branches.

I would have 'liked' this proposal but I've run out of likes already...
DEFINITELY something needs to happen here to stop car parking damaging the verges. It's been quite appalling over recent years especially given the local efforts to improve biodiversity on the verges that have been obliterated by cars. Huge deadwood trunks would surely work best as a car deterrent and an invertebrate habitat, though they'd need to be replaced as they rot away over time. Ideally the car park would be removed altogether (as there is parking nearby anyway) and the area can be just a pedestrian/cycle zone.
