Cafe for the Court?

Chloe Thomas•3 years ago There are many coffee carts in Cambridge, we have a baker (Dorringtons) in the court itself. In the absence of a permanent cafe, could a coffee cart come one day a week - Saturday morning - to create a bit more community feeling in the court? Chairs could be borrowed from the church or the Community Arts building, or the library.

Carlton Arms - a real local pub?

Chloe Thomas•3 years ago Great that this is a real local pub. Obviously trying to expand what they offer: English Breakfasts, Karaoke, Caribbean food, Reggae nights and the famous Carvery. Currently advertising for a new landlord. Should stay as a pub or somewhere to eat if possible, this area has very little that is open.

Dangerous phasing on Mansel way - Arbury Road

Chloe Thomas•3 years ago There doesn't seem to be a traffic light phase where you can get out of Mansel Way and turn R onto Arbury Road safely. You are always coming into conflict with other cars.

Cut through path to Arbury Court

Chloe Thomas•3 years ago This is a very useful cut through and heavily used. It's very important that the streetlamp on the Arbury Court side is working, otherwise it feels really unsafe in that area behind the units.

Arbury Court

Chloe Thomas•3 years ago Very useful local shopping precinct. Budgens (inc Post Office, very important) , bakery, butchers, takeaways, hairdresser, greengrocer, library, barber, food bank, locksmith, charity organisation, pet shop. The loss of the pharmacy is sad, it was important as the Arbury Surgery is so close. I would be good to have a cafe, somewhere to meet and stop, and some shelter on rainy days. It does suffer with vandalism and anti social behaviour but overwhelmingly there is a great local feel about the shop owners and customers there.

Nightmare Arbury Road south cycling

Chloe Thomas•3 years ago It's a nightmare, and scary cycling down the south stretch of Arbury Road to turn Left onto Milton Road. There's no room, and you're almost forced on the pavements, and that's too narrow for cycles and pedestrians.

Cycle Track

Chloe Thomas•3 years ago I am really looking forward to this cycle path upgrade being open on both sides of Milton Road. I *hope* it goes all the way to the point at which a cycle needs to turn R to get to Cambridge North Rail station. And we need better - or some ! - signage to show people how to get to the station.

Bike access and signage to Cambridge North

Chloe Thomas•3 years ago I'm really hoping that the new works on Milton road will make it easier and not so dangerous to get onto the path running along the busway for cycle access to Cambridge North. Also a few more signs would be good!

Dangerous parking around Arbury Primary School

Chloe Thomas•1 year ago Brimley Road and Carlton Way gets very dangerous during school drop off times. There have been at least 2 accidents in the last 2 years - there is a lack of visibility and small children running into the road in front of cars happens fairly regularly. There is a lot of pavement parking too.

Arbury Court needs a cafe

Chloe Thomas•1 year ago We really need a cafe in this area - in Arbury Court. It's the obvious place to stop but there is nowhere nice at all.
