Open for comments from Monday 25 November 2024 to Sunday 2 February 2025.
Cambridge City Council and South Cambridgeshire District Council are seeking views on markets in the area.
We would like to understand the role played by the various markets in Cambridge city and South Cambridgeshire.
We need your feedback to help us decide how best to support these markets and ensure they thrive, maximising their potential for the benefit of everyone.
- How do markets contribute to the community?
- Why do local residents visit (or not visit) markets?
- What would encourage local residents to use markets more?
- Do markets provide enough access to locally sourced, sustainable food?
Cambridge market operates in the historic market square every day of the week, with a wide range of products and an offer which changes daily.
Cambridge City Council is committed to keeping a seven-day market in the market square.
Over 15 regular community markets are run across South Cambridgeshire, and with the developing towns of Cambourne, Waterbeach and Northstowe, we expect to see more over the coming years.
