Coleridge recreation ground fitness equipment

Consultation open from 9 August 2022 to 8 September 2022.

We plan to install new fitness equipment on Coleridge recreation ground for the local community to use.

Two possible locations have been identified for the new equipment:

• Between the tennis court and the splashpad in the northwest corner of the park
• Alongside the path that runs across the southeast corner of the park

Fitness equipment has been installed on other parks around the city, including Coldham's Common, Trumpington recreation ground, Romsey recreation ground and Nightingale avenue recreation ground.

Please respond to the poll by 8 September and tell us what types of equipment you would like and whereabouts you think we should install it.

Next steps

A design brief will be prepared that reflects what equipment you would like us to install. We will then ask companies to tender for the project, allowing us to choose the best designs that fit the brief.

Installation of the new equipment is expected in March 2023.

The equipment will be paid for using developer contributions, also known as Section 106 funds. These funds are paid by developers to mitigate the impact of new homes and other buildings.
