Creating meeting spaces at Scotland Road recreation ground

Open for comments from Friday 13 December 2024 to Sunday 26 January 2025.

We are seeking your views on a proposal to install two benches in Scotland Road recreation ground. These benches will provide a comfortable resting spot for visitors to enjoy the natural beauty and tranquility of this space.

The proposed location for these benches is in close proximity to the play area and alongside the footpath through the space.

These installations are proposed with the intention of:

  • improving the local environment by enabling a place to stop
  • creating resting and meeting places in the local community

Bench locations

There are two location options we are considering for the new benches.

  • Along the cross path: Positioned to provide a scenic resting point for walkers, joggers, and anyone looking to take a break and enjoy the surroundings. This spot is ideal for those who want to pause and appreciate the park.
  • Overlooking the children’s play area: This location offers a convenient spot for parents and guardians to relax while keeping an eye on their children. It will also serve as a meeting point for families and friends.
