Developer funded improvements to Histon Road recreation ground

Open for comments from Friday 25 October to Friday 22 November 2024.

Histon Road recreation ground is one of a number of recreation grounds managed by Cambridge City Council.

It is located south of the development site of the land formerly used by ATS and Murketts, and is a protected open space in the Local Plan.

Together with Cambridge Investment Partnership, we propose to enhance the recreation ground with the following:

  • seating area south of the play park
  • play features (such as willow tunnels and tipis)
  • improving the surface to enhance existing woodland trails around the parameter to improve accessibility for playing and exploring
  • resurfacing the path that leads to the play area to improve accessibility
  • biodiversity enhancements

Full details and visual material can be found in the consultation information pack.

A variety of Environmental Improvement Programme (EIP) and developer funded improvements will be delivered which complement the whole of the green space for people and biodiversity.
