Open for comments from 16 February to 4 April 2023

Environmental Improvement Programme (EIP) funding has been approved for the purpose of improving biodiversity on Carisbrooke Road's, central green space. This is the green space adjacent and leading up to Mayfield Primary School. The proposals for the project are to improve biodiversity through a number of measures including:

  • Wildflower Meadow planting on newly developed bug bunds around the edge of the green space;
  • Wildflower and bulb planting under the trees and around the central areas of the green space
  • Tree planting for greater protection of grass verge and to increase canopy cover and increase biodiversity
  • Deadwood logs to encourage further wildlife
