King’s Hedges recreation ground play area redevelopment
Open for comments from Monday 10 July to Friday 4 August 2023.
We have secured £165,000 of funding for improvements to the play area at King’s Hedges recreation ground.
You can have your say on the proposal until Friday 4 August. The survey is located under the 'About' section.
New and improved play items
After evaluating designs from play supply companies and thoroughly analysing each submission, the chosen design is the one that scored the highest for inclusivity, play value and value for money.
New features will include a 20 metre zip line, an inclusive roundabout, a swing unit, a trampoline, a large timber multi play fort, bank slide and a new crusader rope swing.

Some existing items such as the carousel spinning/swing unit and the large steel climbing frames will remain.
New seating areas will be created and more litter bins installed.
Safety surfacing is provided for balanced impact absorbent materials that are ecological to replace and economical to repair.
Have your say
We want your feedback on the proposal. Please be aware that funding is limited and major changes may not be financially possible.
Please complete the survey located under the 'About' section.
Next steps
Once feedback has been collated, we will make any affordable changes that are required and instruct our supplier to start manufacturing the equipment. This can take up to 12 weeks.
Once the equipment is available, we will begin installation, which we expect to be completed before the end of 2023.
